I'm also unable to find Yaml plugin. Google search didn't help much either. Is it not available in the community edition?

So far, Netbeans seems to be the best Python visual IDE. I would love to see IDEA taking the lead here.

Of course Emacs or Vim is also a good way to go if you like this kind of DE.

Looks like a new Intellij 9 will be in development soon. Hopefully we get a complete Python support before Intellij 9 development goes main stream.

This is a really good start, but has some serious shortcomings.

The biggest issue I see right away is that it doesn't properly inspect modules within packages. It seems like you have to manually add "import " statements to get it to work, but Python automatically detects subpackages and modules by default.

I have updated the forum permissions so that posting should now work.

The auto-import is in fact implemented. Could you please post a JIRA issue showing a code example where you expect auto-import to work but it does not?

tried to post to Python(EAP) but my user was prompted for login (even though it works perfectly with other forums).

anyway trying out the plugin now. so far it looks good the feature i am missing the most is auto-import. I will let you know if I found anything else.

keep up the good work! this and the scala plugin were the reasons for me to buy a license!

Deprecated method usage: ProjectImpl.getProjectFilePath().
This method will cease to exist in IDEA 7.0 final release.
Please contact plugin developers for plugin update.
